Mexico. Great experience. I had the opportunity to go down to Tijuana, Mexico with some friends from church to build a home for a family. We did it through an organization called Amor Ministries. What they are doing is really cool and if you have a second make sure you check out there site at http://amor.org. We headed down there BRIGHT and EARLY on Thursday morning. We left Brad's at 4 in the morning and headed out towards San Diego. We ate lunch in San Diego and then headed over the border. It was amazing to see the instant change the moment we crossed the border. Obviously we were in a different country, but you could definitely tell that we were. It took us about 20 or 30 minutes to get to where we were camping, where we set up and then headed immediately to the job site. We finished the house a day early with only 10 of us when normally there is a team of at least 15. It was awesome to work with a group of people that were there to get things done and worked together extremely well. I had the opportunity to get closer with some of the people on the trip and I gained a lot of respect for everyone in the group. I do wish however I focused more on talking with God while I was down there then hustling to get the house done. The experience regardless was amazing though. It was nice to take a step out of my life to experience and benefit someone else's. I know that this trip was the first of many that I will go on. I am in the beginning of putting together a young adults trip for later this year. One thing that got me thinking while we were watching the video of our trip at church was really an appreciation for people. It was awesome to see our team in work also to see the family again, but it also got me wondering about everyone at home. You are awesome and I'm glad you're my friend :)
